HISTORY 11/26/64 ~ 1/28/12
The world lost a beautiful person, inside and out that January day! Sharon’s kind and giving spirit will live on in those she touched and in her family. Consistent with Sharon’s wishes, Gloria Trull (cousin and closest friend), has continued to strive to honor Sharon’s wish to help others increase accessibility to healthcare by establishing “Sharin Care”. Even in death, Sharon continues to help others!
The Open Door is honored to partner in this ministry and keep Sharon’s memory alive to those who come through our doors in need of assistance.
“I have been so blessed to have the help I’ve been given by Sharin Care. I have to travel to Wake Forest Baptist Health Hospital in Winston-Salem to see a specialist for a severe urological disease. These appointments have to be frequent, as I have “external hardware” (as I like to call it), that keeps the symptoms at bay. Sharin Care, through The Open Door, has helped with gas on a few of those trips, as well as a hotel room at the hospital’s affiliate hotel when I had to have surgery early in the morning. I have no income and an 8 year old daughter, whom my mother watches during my surgeries and appointments. I have no other help when I can’t manage to work it all out on my own. If I hadn’t had the help from Sharin Care when I needed it, I would have missed very important appointments that take months to reschedule. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything! You are both a blessing and a miracle in my life!”
